Configuring your Timeline activities

  1. Go to ‘General’ tab under your Settings->Options and make sure you have a ‘Qty’ record set for your desired activity (description). For my example, I’m using ‘Install Days'. Any row with 'N/A’ is currently available for use.

  2. Select the ‘Activity Timeline’ tab in Settings-> Options.

  3. Find the desired department that you want to associate your activity with. In this example, I’ve selected the department ‘Installation-Hourly’.

  4. Select the desired activity to assign to the ‘Qty’ column as the bare minimum. Optionally, you can also tie your Start Date and End Date to project dates, as well as trigger a Status change upon completion in the remaining three columns.

  5. Close the Settings->Options window.

  6. Go to a Phase (Work order/Release) and make sure your desired activity column is showing. If it isn’t showing, change the selected view or click ‘Edit Views’ and check the checkbox next to the activity you want to show.

  7. Populate your activity column with your desired quantity. In this example, I’ve set the Install Days for this Specialty Order to four (4).

  8. Navigate to your Timeline and toggle on your desired Department(s). In this example, I’ve toggled on ‘Installation Hours’ and my Specialty Order work order is showing 4/4 days that can be scheduled.

  9. Select the desired activity. Highlight the dates where you want to schedule the activity, then using your middle-mouse-button (or wheel), drag the activity up to your calendar.

  10. Once the activity has been placed on the calendar, you can select the dates and right-mouse-click to bring up some additional options from the context menu pop-up.
