How to use the Mobile Timeclock GPS Feature.

The GPS feature is used to require an employee to share their GPS coordinates when making in/out punches on the mobile app. These coordinates are then compared to the Project site GPS coordinates and the distance from the Project site is displayed on their time punches.

The employee's location is not recorded the whole time they are clocked in, only when they make a time punch with the mobile app.

Step 1 - Enable the GPS Feature

The setting to enable this behavior is configured per Employee.
To turn it on go to Data → Employees → Labor
Tick the box for Require GPS on Mobile

Step 2 - Set the Project GPS Location

The Project Latitude/Longitude field on the Project form next to the project description lets you enter GPS coordinates for the project. These coordinates are used to calculate distance from the site when clocking in and out through a Crows Nest mobile app on Android or iOS.

Step 3 - View the In/Out Punches

The IN/OUT Distances for the employee punches can be viewed in the Timeclock Form.
