How to re-register a machine license

A Machine License is present but cannot be validated for the reason(s) below.

License Version Exceeded

Crows Nest will attempt to retrieve a floating license.

 

When you renew U&S you'll need to re-register any machines that are not using a floating license so it updates the expiration date. Follow the steps below on any machines that get that message.

  1. Go to the Login window (if it automatically logs in, click Logout on the toolbar to get back to the Login window)

  2. Click the Connections button to expand the Login window

  3. Click the Remove Machine License button to remove the expired license

  4. Click the same button (now named 'Register Machine License') to re-register and update the expiration date
