  • Each project in Crows Nest has a unique numeric ID called a Project ID.

  • A Project ID can be any combination of integers up to 10 digits.

Negative numbers and numbers with decimals are not allowed in a Project ID.

Next Available Project ID

When creating a project in Crows Nest, You can leave the Project ID field blank to use the next available Project ID number.

EXAMPLE: For the first project of the year 2021 we would enter in 2021001. The next project created would then be 2021002 if the Project ID field is left blank.

It is common practice to start with a zero padded number so projects will sort numerically by their ID.
(See the underlined portions in the Example above.)

Project ID on the Project Form

On the Project Form the Project ID is shown in the ID Field under the Edit Project section.

Left-clicking the number in the ID Field will open the Select a Project window where the current project being viewed can be changed.

By default, The Project ID is prefixed to the Project Description in the Select Project list. The Project ID can be hidden in this list by unchecking the box next to Show ID.
