Setting-up Product Lines

The definition of ‘Product Lines’ can vary wildly depending on your organization’s products produced. In the example below, this organization produces ‘Standard’ and ‘Custom’ product lines.

However, it could just as easily be: ‘Commercial’; and ‘Residential’.

Our team will assist you in setting this up during implementation and you can add, remove, and edit this list as you see fit.

You know your own products better than anyone else. Give some thought to how you want to set these up before you begin creating products. It’s much more time consuming to go back through products to edit their product types, than getting it the way you want it from the beginning.

Add a New Product Line

  1. Right-Mouse-Click anywhere in the top portion of the product panel and click ‘Add’ from the pop-up context menu.

  2. Click ‘Add’, give your new product a name in the field to the right, and press the ‘Enter’ key to save.

  3. Repeat step-2 to add as many product lines as you’d like. When you are satisfied, click ‘OK’ to exit the pop-up context menu.

Rename/Edit a Product Line

  1. Get to Step-2 in the instructions above. Select the product line that you want to rename. Instead of selecting ‘Add’, select ‘Rename’ to correct a misspelling, or to rename the item to something entirely different.

Delete a Product Line

  1. Same process applies as above, except you are selecting the product line that you wish to delete. Select Delete from the popup menu.

  2. Selecting ‘Delete’ will prompt you for confirmation that you truly want to delete the product. If your intention is to delete the product, click ‘Yes’.

Note: this action will remove the product line from any existing products that are associated with that product line. This action cannot be undone, so be sure you wish to delete the product before committing to this action.
