Setting-up Product Types
The definition of ‘Product Types’ can vary wildly depending on your organization’s products produced. In the example below, this organization produces standard and custom product lines of cabinets.
Think of ‘Product Types’ as being the various modular components that can all come together to complete a project such as a kitchen or bathroom; its cabinets, countertops, millwork trim, toe kick, etc.
Our team will assist you in setting these product types up during implementation and you can add, remove, and edit this list as you see fit.
You know your own products better than anyone else. Give some thought to how you want to set these up before you begin creating products. It’s much more time consuming to go back through products to edit their product types, than getting it the way you want it from the beginning.
Add a New Product Type
Right-Mouse-Click anywhere in the top portion of the product panel to open the ‘Select Product Type’ pop-up menu. Click ‘Add’ and give your new product type a name and press the ‘Enter’ key to save the product type to the list. In this example, we’re adding a new product type ‘Shelving’.
