Release: February 9th, 2023
See changes to Permissions below marked with a Key. After installing, you should set the new permissions per employee as desired to avoid interruption for users.
If you’ve linked Crows Nest to Quickbooks Desktop, you may need to re-certify the connection by logging in to QB with Admin rights, initiating a transfer to QB and then approving the connection in the QB integration popup window. This is due to a renewal of our code-signing certificate which QB uses for integrated app identification. You will also likely need to run Crows Nest 32bit to transfer to QB (see following note)
Starting with this update the desktop apps will run as a 64-bit. If you need to run in 32bit to integrate with another 32bit app there is a 32-bit version which you can launch from the Windows Start Menu titled “Crows Nest 32bit”. Running Crows Nest 32bit version

Drawings
Drawings Form - There is a new form for Drawings that lets you manage Drawing records across all Projects.
Drawing Status Change Notification - An option titled ‘Drawing Status Change - Notify Assigned’ has been added to Notifications under Settings->Options->Notifications. Estimating
Price Override - The Price Override field added to the Product library is now functional. It will be copied to the takeoff on the estimate and can be overridden there. If this field is populated the value will be used for the base price in lieu of the standard method of (cost add + material cost and markup + labor cost and markup). See this page to learn more about setting a Price Override.
Reports
Export Folder - A folder template can be created to store the default location when exporting a report to PDF/Excel. To modify the template, go to Settings-->Custom Reports and right-click on a report and click ‘Edit Export Folder’. You can use placeholder tags in the template. To see available tags, add a Folder template for any report, then expand the report and select the folder, then see instructions to the right of report list.
New DevExpress Reporting - A new reporting engine has been added and will exist side-by-side with the current RDL reports. Microsoft is not continuing development of the RDL report viewer/builder and we will be phasing it out over the next year. At the top of the Reports form there is a link to the new counterpart of the Reports form for loading the new report types. Included is a built-in report designer. Contextual reports that start with “CN_” and open in a single floating report window support the new report type and the viewer will automatically select the compatible viewer based on the report type. The new report viewer will be integrated in other areas (i.e., Reports tab on the Project form) in a future update. For now, continue to use RDL reporting.

The CreatedBy field was not populating on budget records created by a Phase Template
When exporting PO Invoice items to Quickbooks (Canadian) which didn’t have a tax amount, the Tax Code was blank instead of E (exempt).
When merging phases, allocated inventory was not merged and became allocated to the project and available to other phases on the project.
When merging phases, the Scope field wasn't merged previously.
When editing a Change Order, adding a single Department without a Category was not pulling the default labor rate.
When creating a new PO with a foreign currency, the exchange rate was not saving and had to be entered a second time.
If a user was linked to a Lunch Period that had no start or stop time and was not linked to a schedule, an error would occur on the Timeclock app when clocking in or out.
