Application-generated error messages

This is a parent article to list and link to various error messages that have been reported.

Error Messages

These error messages have been reported to our service desk in the last two months:

  1. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  2. Error converting data type nvarchar to numeric.

  3. The path is not of a legal form.

  4. Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'SplitQty', table 'CrowsNest.dbo.Task'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.

  5. An error occured while creating a project folder.

  6. Could not find file […file path\filename…].

  7. InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex.

  8. Could not find a part of the path […path…].

  9. An error occurred during local report processing. -An error has occurred during report processing.

  10. Error Contacting License Server.

  11. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 – No such host is known.) -No such host is known

  12. Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source

  13. Cannot clear this list.

  14. SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM.

  15. The network path was not found

  16. A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 – The network connection was aborted by the local system.) -The network connection was aborted by the local system

  17. Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint ‘PK_Employee_Setting’. Cannot insert duplicate key in object ‘dbo.Employee_Setting’. The duplicate key value is (99, Splitter_Phase, Form_Project, ). The statement has been terminated.

  18. Could not complete operation since target directory is under source directory.

  19. The process cannot access the file […path\file…] because it is being used by another process.

  20. Invalid column name ‘ParentID’.

  21. Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. -The wait operation timed out

  22. Sort string contains a property that is not in the IBindingList.

  23. An error occured while reading from the ODBC Source.

  24. An error occured while trying to read settings from the database.

  25. The parameterized query ‘(@Description nvarchar(4000),@FolderPath nvarchar(26),@_FolderPa’ expects the parameter ‘@Description’, which was not supplied.

  26. Transaction failed. The server response was: 5.7.1 <…path\URL…>: Client host rejected: Access denied
