How to change default assignee on a task

If you're running a version that has the 'Replace Assignments' feature on the Employee form…

A. Use the Replace Assignments feature

  1. Open Employees.

  2. Find and select the employee’s account. Check the filters above the list of names for 'Show Terminated' and/or 'Show Hidden' to make sure the name comes up.

  3. Right-click on the employee and click 'Replace Assignments'.

  4. Click OK on the explanation popup.

  5. Select the new Employee and click OK.

  6. Click OK to the process complete message.


If you didn't do step A and you just want to remove him, not replace him, then do items below instead

B. Remove an email address from the employee account

  1. Open Employees.

  2. Find and select the employee’s account. Check the filters above the list of names for 'Show Terminated' and/or 'Show Hidden' to make sure the name comes up.

  3. Delete his Email address on the Contact tab. If he has no email, then it won't try to send him a notification.


C. Remove an employee from any Task Assignment

  1. Open Settings-->Task Definitions

  2. Scroll through Task Definitions of each type and look for any where the person in question is set as the Employee (see pic below). Click the red circle button to remove him, or click his name to select somebody else.
