Crows Nest is Running, but it's not on my screen

Problem

You’ve logged in to Crows Nest, but you don’t see the application window on your monitor(s). However, you see that the application is actively running on your Windows Taskbar.

You ask, “Where did Crows Nest go?”, and “How do I get it to show back up on my screen?”

What causes this to happen?

The cause of this, is most often a result of logging into a different computer than your last login, and more often than not, you’ve just logged in to a computer that has only a single monitor attached. As you open different windows within Crows Nest, the application stores which monitor the window is opened on; and its position on the monitor. This functionality allows you to return to your workspaces in a familiar place, the next time you login.

Solution

Step-by-Step

  1. Hover your mouse over the Crows Nest icon on your Windows Taskbar

  2. Right-mouse-click the mini Crows Nest screen to open the context menu.

  3. Select Move from the context menu.

  4. Click any of the Arrow Keys on your keyboard. This action will anchor your mouse to the Crows Nest window.

  5. Move your mouse around until you see the Crows Nest window appears and drag it on to your screen.
(Note: The Crows Nest window may be in a virtual workspace to the left, or right of your current monitor. So, move your mouse around until you see the window appear.)

Enhancements were made in the March 2022 release that eliminate any need to perform these steps.
